If you build your own tank, should you use glass or plastic (Plexiglas) I have heard pros an cons on both

I think it would be durable if I use plastic.  Can you share the pros and cons between the two?

plexi glass scratches, and over time becomes full of scratches. And coraline algea does not come off easily.
my next tank will be glass.
